Andrew Askew

Welcome to the website of Andrew Askew. I am an experienced and fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and I run my practice from my home on Forth Mountain, 6 miles outside of Wexford Town.

For most of us, there are areas of life which are difficult, and where we feel unable to cope effectively. Memories of the past, painful events in the present, and anxieties about the future combine in a way that prevent us from living a full life and realising our potential.

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is often referred to as “talking therapy”. This is true, because it is through talking about what you think and how you feel that you begin to make sense of your life, accept the things you need to accept and change the things which you feel are no longer useful and which can realistically be changed.

If you feel the need to talk to someone, psychotherapy and counselling offers a secure and confidential setting, in which you can explore the issues which prevent you from leading a fulfilling life.

Common Issues

Some of the most common issues include:

  • Depression
  • Loss of a loved one / bereavement
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Frequently feeling anxious
  • Illness
  • Abuse
  • Addictions
  • Post Traumatic Stress
  • Simply not feeling ok about yourself

People do not have to be in crisis to come to therapy. Everyone deserves the right to be heard.
